These classic men's brown fade plastic vintage eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The frame is marked ''56'' and the arms read ''BRW 5 3/4 U.S.A.''. The plastic has a nice sheen with no cracks, crazing or discoloration and the rivets shine bright. This big 1970s teardrop aviator is called the ''Wakefield'' and it's by Brentwood Optical Company. They called the color ''brown-tone'' and it fade from darker brown at the hinges to almost clear at the bridge, all in a smoke brown, very cool color. The frames are unused vintage stock, never worn, never had lenses. They even come with their original paper sleeve, as shown. They're a classic teardrop aviator shape, with a slight suggestion of geometric shaping in the lower corners of the teardrop, a fun detail. The hinges are five-barrel, nice and tight, no wobble, and they're attached to the temples with real-deal rivets with a nice, silver rivet head. The temples also have a little geometric shaping, both near the hinge and at the tips. Super frames, ready for to go!
Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary based on maker and adjustment. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
If you have any questions about this pair of glasses or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me. I try to answer all questions promptly.
